Last week was super cool. I finished my first draft, talked to some mentors, and planned out my next steps. My original plans have been modified because of a surprise opportunity. I may have a professional critique partner right off the bat!
This week, I’ll continue to recruit for my team and research. I started reading an insightful book about writing your first novel—one chapter in, and I’ve learned so much already! I think this book will help me as I edit my book.
I will also start editing this week. Overthinking prevented me from actually starting the edits; I didn’t know if there was a specific strategy. I know what to edit and how, but I stunted myself by overthinking the minor details like printing it out and manually editing, digitally editing, etc. Now I know people edit differently, and it doesn’t really matter. I’m just going to send it.
Now begins the long editing trek!
