Hi, I’m Sierra!
And I’m writing my first book.
I’m a writer, poet, and aspiring author. But most importantly, I’m a follower of Christ. I write monthly newsletters on my Substack and keep up with my writing journey daily on my Instagram.
What I Write
Novels
I want to be an author. Many of my story ideas, including my current main project, are novels or series. Most of them are contemporary fiction, adventure, and fantasy.
Short Stories
I’ve written a few short stories already, and hope to write more in the future. I’m currently working on a side project that includes writing several short stories.
Essays
Many essays I write are simply my thoughts and philosophies on random subjects. I enjoy fleshing out my thoughts regarding history, linguistics, and theology.
Poetry
My poetry is bad. That’s it. Someday, I’d love to publish the heartfelt poetry in my pocket journal. For now, I’ll frantically scribble incoherent lines at every red light.
About Me
I was never a kid writer; I never read much. Sure, I admired great stories, had my favorite books, and watched Indiana Jones incessantly, but I wasn’t a big reader and I didn’t care to write.
My writing journey started when I was barely thirteen, fresh out of quarantine. I’d started to read more when COVID hit, the first being the Harry Potter series. I had always loved movies until then, but books expanded my imaginative mind as I entered the world of intangible imageries. Now that my wheels were turning, I began brainstorming stories and expanding my already-created universes for the fun of it. It wasn’t until I was fifteen when I started to actually write them, one opportunity being writing camp.

I saw the Rebelution was hiring for an internship with their social media team. Although I wasn’t even allowed to have social media then, I signed up. Due to my lack of social media experience, I hastily started a blog to provide some credibility for my application (I didn’t get the internship). Thus, It’s a Writing in Progress began.
Little building blocks, like writing camp, the Rebelution’s blog opportunities, and my brand establishment, are markers of my writing journey’s beginnings, and they are experiences I love to teach from.
I’ve been writing seriously for about a year and a half now and hold my WIP and other ideas close to my heart. Even my online platform—my website, newsletter, and Instagram page—are little corners of my own. I believe this platform—this talent—are things I can use to glorify God.
Projects

So, since nobody asked, I’m discontinuing the weekly blog posts. I’ve been making these weekly posts since June 2024, when I began writing Give Her My Heart. My platform has come a long way since then, both aesthetically and professionally. I know nobody reads my blog posts, but if you do, thanks. Genuinely. Thank you…

I’m posting this way too late because I didn’t even realize it was Monday. Last week, I edited one chapter. One. That’s okay, because I was busy, but I was losing my focus and discipline. I still am and have struggled with this for way too long. It is difficult for me to focus on…

I’m shocked it’s almost March already. Last week was a small exception to my lack of productivity. I was very busy, with the CLT on Thursday, work, school, and an all-day occupation on Sunday. I had very few opportunities to edit. However, I edited a few chapters and did some plotting. My book is looking…
