A Week of Habitual Ritual

Recently, I’ve been building my consistent writing habits. I figured it was time to finally work hard. After all, I am in the Young Writers Workshop, and I’ve been wanting to publish for a while now. I just wish I worked harder then.

Well, there’s no point in moping now; I have more resources and motivation!

My goal still is to write and publish my first book soon, but the book isn’t going to write itself. Thanks to YWW lessons, I’ve created a writing schedule for the next several months that will prioritize my writing while building the habit. It looks a little something like this:

  • First Month: 250 words/day
  • First Half of the Second Month: 300 words/day
  • Second Half of the Second Month: 400 words/day
  • Third Month: 500 words/day
  • Fourth Month: 600 words/day
  • Fifth Month: 700 words/day
  • Sixth and Seventh Months: 800 words/day
  • Following Months: 900 words/day

This is what I discovered while reading a YWW lesson. I’ve been keeping it up for a week or so. Naturally, I’ve been incredibly motivated, but I know I will fall short soon. At least I have something to write.

As always, it’s a writing in progress.
