Burnout is real, y’all.
I honestly didn’t edit much last week. However, I read a book about writing a book and that really helped me revise my plot, and I contemplated heavily on the story itself. This reevaluation will boost my initial content edits, because I’m not about to edit the entire book and then fix my plot. So I started editing again, according to that new plot idea, and now I have a clearer plan. That plot isn’t incredibly different from my original outline, but it has added a few major changes to the beginning, and I’m a little more content with it. I yapped to my sister, the only one who has no choice but to listen, and she approved.
Overall, last week was pretty chill and otherwise “unproductive.” Although I’m annoyed I didn’t get much done, I’m glad I had the chance to focus on school and other things. I’m also glad I researched and thought about my plan more. Learning and researching properly is actually helpful—whodathunk?
This week will also revolve around editing. This time, I want to actually edit more, and make a new outline according to my new plan. I just have to translate the incoherent ramblings, albeit slightly organized, of the new plot points in my notes app. I also want to continue reading and researching about editing and plotting. Right now, I’m reading Write Your First Novel by Gilbert Morris and Steve Laube and Real Artists Don’t Starve by Jeff Goins (this one is less about writing and more about business strategy, but it’s good nonetheless).
I don’t know how to end a post.
