Follow my journey as I write my first book.
I wasn’t a kid writer; I never read much. Sure, I admired great stories, but I wasn’t a five-year-old bookworm—I was too busy eating dirt. But, as a seventh grader during COVID-19, I began to read more, falling in love with stories; I saw what they could do. When I saw that I loved to write, I slept on it and decided God could use my writing.
I kept that “I want to write” goal for a couple of years until I learned that I could pursue this dream, this dream of authorship, right now. So, in September 2023, I began my platform to gain credibility for an internship for the Rebelution’s social media team (I didn’t get it).
But I hadn’t done much with the actual, you know, writing stories part. Until that point, I just had universes in my head that I never put onto paper. Until I heard of NaNoWriMo in November 2023—that was the first time I began to lay out my ideas and actually write. I had publishing in my mind; I even had a platform to use!
Now— just one year later—I’ve developed my platform with a more functional website, a Substack email list, and continually growing socials. I’m writing my first book and plan to publish it soon. God has given me many opportunities, and I’m incredibly excited to see what He does next.
